James Herbert (born 1943 in London) .James Herbert, that used to be a graphic designer in the field of commercials and had a good career there, should be, according to his sale records (almost 30 million books worldwide), Europe's most successfull horror-author of modern times. Besides his highlights like the Rat-Trilogy (Whose part "Domain" is one of the best horrorstories ever) he has a hard time writing something really 'new' or work with the tension in his books really well to capture the reader. Often his stories seem like a faded version of already existing ones. |
